We stayed at the Westin Lucaya resort on Grand Bahama Island. We have never had flower petals all over the bed before (good start to the vacation, huh?)
George is still wondering if he should like, roll around in them or something (don't worry, he didn't).
Holly's checking out the view outside of our "Lanai Suite". Palm trees, beach, ocean, can't beat that.
This is the view of our suite (1st floor only). We had a table/chairs and 2 lounge chairs for enjoying our view.
And what better start to George's vacation than to catch the Eagles victory over Dallas?
Another outside shot of our sweet suite.
We went on a "glass bottom boat" ride to check out the fishes.
Holly chillin on the boat.
Shot of the marina. Just a few yachts. Plan to park ours here as soon as we save up that extra million dollars.
The marina is on the edge of the little town marketplace. Cool place to hang out right across from the hotel area.
There's a parasailer up there, on one of the beeeeeeautiful days we enjoyed.
That's a shot of our suites from the boat.
This is a shot of the bigger hotel part on the left, and the suites on the right.
They built the hotel to sort of look like a cruise ship, pretty cool, huh?
OK, here's some fishes we saw through the glass bottom of the boat.
And more of that school of fish.
And another shot of fishes.
That's one big load of fish.
Guess what this shot is....more fish!
Fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish, fish.
Oh, a big fish!
Dude, more sharks.
Bye, bye, sharks.
And, back to the marina.
Incase you are trying to calculate a budget for your bahamas trip, here is a list of common expenses.
Have a Holly jolly Christmas!!
This is the square in the local marketplace in Lucaya, with a stage for music and everything.
And lots of outdoor bars in the marketplace.
Hey, an Irish Pub! Sweet.
And another shot of the view from our room. Every day, it still impressed us.
Someone was even having their wedding a little ways down the lawn.
And this is right after that wedding, people mingling on the lawn near the beach. Awesome setting for a wedding, we think.
Back to the marketplace at night. Lots of lights and music.
Nice decorations, it's an island Christmas!!
Merry Christmas, mon!!
A little blurry, but this is the entrance to the marketplace area.
And, our checkout day, a few last shots. This is the foyer/entrance.
One last shot of that view.
And one last shot of our room from outside.
Bye bye, living room.
Bye bye, bedroom.
Bye bye bathroom. Bye bye Bahamas. Maybe we'll stop back and visit someday.
